Progress??

So, now that I’ve bored you with 3 long posts about what I have been doing the past few weeks I thought I should just quickly share some info about our progress!  No…no…we don’t have a referral yet.  Sorry to get your hopes up just to burst your bubble.

But…

While I was away visiting The Ol Man, a friend that BH and I met through the Bethany Message Board and through comments on BH’s Blog got her referral of a baby girl from Guatemala! Why am I sharing this with all of you? Well, first of all we were very excited for her and her husband and just felt like sharing their joy with all of you! There is nothing more exciting than hearing good news from other families! Even if it was not our referral it is still just amazing how God is working in each and every family’s life in this process! My friend and I have felt that it was God’s hand that introduced us to each other through both the Message Board and BH’s blog almost simultaneously and we look forward to a day when we might meet face-to-face and introduce our daughters to each other!

I also share this info with you for a more selfish reason! You see, my friend and her husband were placed on Bethany’s waiting list for a baby girl from Guatemala just 2 or 3 days before us! They got their referral on Friday, April 27th. You know what that means? It means that we cannot be far behind! BH and I are expecting a call any day to let us know that we have been matched with our CJ! We are waiting with baited breath for that phone to ring! Every time it does I jump with anticipation, my heart leaping out of my chest, my hands shaking with fear and excitement (that said…if you don’t want me to die young of a heart attack please do not call between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. M-F) ! Thank goodness our phone doesn’t ring often or I would probably be a basket case (OK, you’re right. I already AM a basket case).

So, my prayer is that this information gives you all a little hope and peace knowing that the process continues to move forward. This might not have been our referral but the referral of any child to a family is a blessing and something for which we all must be thankful! Please join BH and me in congratulating my friend on the referral of her daughter as well as keep us in your prayers as we look forward to the next couple weeks with much anxiety and anticipation! God bless you all, including my friends from Mississippi (you know who you are)!

  1. Oh good job Darling – now everyone’s going to be e-mailing and IM-ing and all that asking us if we’ve got the call!!!
Better to tell them it’ll be another 6 months then surprise them when we contact them!!!

Hey – you never know, there could have been 15 people submitting their paperwork on those few days between us and our friend from Mississippi.

Just kidding. I can follow-up though that our agency continues present referrals, someone got one yesterday for a boy.

    Won’t be long now…..
